ThinkEngine Networks Announces Availability of Release 3.0 of their Conferencing Software
Release 3.0 of Conferencing Software adds Operator Assisted Features
September 25, 2007 Marlborough, MA - ThinkEngine Networks, Inc. (AMEX: THN) a leading provider of TDM and IP capable conferencing bridges and media servers today announced that Release 3.0 of their Conferencing Software is now generally available. Release 3.0 contains significant enhancements for Conferencing Service Provider customers, including:
- Class of Service (COS) allows administrators to create a set of conferencing capabilities that can be assigned as a group to individual conferencing subscribers. This saves time in setting up Subscribers as a COS is created first and then Subscribers are assigned to a COS as they are provisioned.
- Block Caller List allows the administrator of a VSR1000 to create a list of ANI's (Automatic Number Identifications) that will be blocked from dialing into the conferencing service. This facilitates the removal of unwanted callers such as FAX machines or disruptive callers.
- Call Flow Emulation provides the ability for the VSR1000 to easily emulate other competitor's conferencing call flows. This allows the VSR1000 to be used to replace legacy conferencing systems and still give the customer the same conferencing experience using state of the art equipment.
- Operator Assistance and the Operator User Interface allows the service provider to service customer needs during the conference call. The operator console is windows based and increases operator productivity, utilizing drag and drop architectures and advanced visualization techniques it allows operators to quickly service customer needs. Operators can manage one or multiple conferencing bridges and are alerted when customers need help. Separate views show queues for conference entry, conference help requests, and all active conferences on the bridge. Operators are able to fully control the conference including mute, room mode, dial out, chime control, and conference locks. Additionally, operators can move participants between conferences, monitor lines, and listen in on conferences.
"The Operator Assisted features are critical to A+ Conferencing and are a major factor in our decision to expand the use of the VSR1000 platform from ThinkEngine Networks," said Mike Burns, president of A+ Conferencing. "As a major conferencing service provider we have thousands of conferences in process simultaneously, and our operators need to be able to monitor and assist multiple conferences at one time from one screen. ThinkEngine showed us their new functionality and their Services team worked with us in customizing the look and feel so our operators were up and running in no time."
"The new functionalities in Release 3.0 are a key step forward in broadening our Audio Conferencing suite of products," said Mike Wixon, vice president of Product Management. "As an example, Call Flow Emulation makes it very simple for Conferencing Service Providers (CSP) with aging conferencing bridges, that cannot handle both TDM and VoIP calls, to replace their equipment while maintaining the look and feel of their current environment. Just as important is that the staff of the CSP does not need to be retrained on the new equipment."
