Application Modules - Privacy Services

The CX Series Network Media Servers have the power and flexibility to deliver new, revenue producing application services to both traditional and emerging network service providers.

One of the key new offerings is CX Privacy Service, (CX/PS) where a caller attempting to speak to a Privacy Service subscriber is prompted to record their name or input an override PIN. CX/PS places a call to the subscriber and provides them with the recorded caller name. CX/PS then lets the subscriber accept or reject the call, reject unwanted telemarketing calls, or route messages to their voice mail system for later review.

The CX/PS application operates on CX Series Media Servers as either an AIN Intelligent Peripheral, utilizing ISDN-PRI to facilitate the application or as an SIP based media server in the IP network. The same CX Series Media Servers can support multiple simultaneous applications, making the addition of CX/PS to an existing Cognitronics network voice announcement system or to new VoIP environments even more affordable.

Platform Features:

Privacy service is anticipated to be a priced carrier offering, usually as an addition to Caller ID. The carrier's network services screens calls to subscribers to Privacy Services. When such a call is from a private or an unavailable calling party number, the call is routed to CX/PS for processing.

CX/PS will:

CX/PS can also accept an override PIN from the caller and connect the call to the called party immediately.

Per call information needed by CX/PS:

Solution Services:

  1. Accept the call; complete the call.
  2. Reject the call; voice "The subscriber is not accepting calls at this time, please try your call again later," then disconnects the call.
Subscriber hanging up is the same as "2".
  3. Telemarketing reject; voice "This party does not accept calls from telemarketers. Please place this number on your do not call list."
    CX/PS then disconnects the call.
  4. Voicemail transfer; voice "The party you are calling would like you to leave a message on their voicemail system…."
CX/PS then sets up the transfer to the voicemail system.
